Cindy and I are having the best time on vacation in North Carolina. We are here in Cary for Jamie Bartlett's wedding, which will be held in Garner. Jamie is our niece, and she is marrying Dave Reid.  I will not be shooting their wedding.

This website is going slowly but surely. Still working on the secure ordering functionality for prints and other products.

I should have some nice photographs from our trip here in NC. Many of the trees and shrubs are in full bloom and it's simply beautiful.

Still working on the shopping cart functionality. Security is the main priority, and verifying it through testing is what I'm going through now.  It will be nice when I can finally work it all out so I can put more of my time and energy into the actual photography.  Definitely been some distractions today, mainly the Japan earthquake. Praying for a quick recovery.

I have been contemplating a program of some kind to support our deployed troops, by allowing you to make a reasonable offer to purchase a framed print for a soldier, airman, marine, or seaman, by making a reasonable offer. You could also purchase the print for yourself, and all proceeds except for the cost of shipping, framing, and printing would go to purchase of care packages for the troops. Your offer would be the important part of a program like this.  Perhaps something like this could be setup for helping out those suffering in Japan, Haiti, and even here in the US. I'll let you know if and when I roll this out.

Added some of my favorite bird images to the nature gallery. Also added a few winter bridge scenes to the slide show on the main page. Still struggling with the ordering functionality... it has to be secure and there are so many variables involved.  The difficulty is passing the chosen variables to the shopping cart, as it is kind of limited to just item, item description, and price. Right now if you want to order a print, please put into the comments as much information as possible.  Information such as size, framing, matting, print medium. I will let you know if what you want is possible, and what the price will be. Otherwise without that information, I will send you suggestions and pricing, so you can decide.

Google Adsense added... not sure how I feel about it yet, so it's just on the blog. Added print request pages to the "Bridges of Madison County" series. Check them out!

Cindy and I are excited to finalize our new website. but is a website ever really finalized? In our case, no. There will always be new photos, new quilting techniques, better ways to serve you, etc... so, maybe we're just excited to finalize the functionality. Our goal is for you to buy as much as you possibly can, and so the functionality has to be there for you to do just that. one of the issues I am having is presenting to you all of the options available  when buying a print. I need to guide you through decisions such as framing/no framing, print sizing lists, print media decisions, matting colors, framing color and styles, to name a few. Finishing that functionality will be a huge hurdle jumped over.

photography has been a passion of mine since I received my first polaroid as a kid in upstate New York, back in the '70s. since then, I retired from the Air Force and have spent 15 years working in the IT field. as I near retirement, and armed with a business degree, I've begun to get back into taking photos. mostly nature photos, candid shots of people, pets, and wildlife.  I have shot a few weddings for family and friends, and also the birth of my new grand children. Now, I'm turning my passion into a business, one photo at a time. in this blog I plan to write about my experiences along the way.  please, I welcome your comments as long as they are constructive.
